ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme at Gitarattan International Business School (GIBS), Rohini, aims to equip students with strong theoretical foundations and practical exposure in the field of Computer Applications and Information Technology. The programme emphasizes analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, coding proficiency, software development skills, teamwork and communication, thereby preparing students for careers in the IT industry, entrepreneurship and higher education.

APPROVAL & AFFILIATION

The four-year BCA programme conducted at Gitarattan International Business School is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, and approved by the competent regulatory authorities, as applicable. The Institute follows all norms and standards laid down by the regulatory authorities with regard to infrastructure, faculty, computer facilities, library resources and academic delivery.

The Institute is accredited with NAAC Grade ‘A’ and has established a strong academic ecosystem with experience in Computer Applications and allied disciplines since 2005.

INTAKE & RESERVATION

The approved intake for BCA (First Shift) is 60 seats and for (Second Shift) is 60 seats. Reservation of seats is applicable as per the policy and guidelines of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and Government of NCT of Delhi. The reservation policy includes provisions for Delhi and Outside Delhi candidates, management quota seats and other reserved categories as per applicable norms and notifications issued from time to time.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with pass in English (Core or Elective or Functional) and Mathematics or Computer Science / Informatics Practices or any other subject related to Computer Science.

Eligibility and admission criteria shall be governed by the rules and regulations of GGSIPU applicable for the academic session 2026–27.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admissions shall be carried out strictly as per the admission policy, merit criteria and counselling process prescribed by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi.

Admission to the programme shall be based on the applicable entrance examination / admission procedure notified by GGSIPU for the academic session 2026–27. Candidates are required to participate in the centralized counselling conducted by the University and select the Institute during the counselling process.

Applicants are advised to refer to the official GGSIPU Admission Brochure and University website www.ipu.ac.in for detailed admission schedules, counselling procedures, reservation policies and eligibility requirements.

The Institute also conducts admissions for Management Quota seats as per the applicable guidelines of Government of NCT of Delhi and GGSIPU.

EXAMINATION & EVALUATION

The Institute follows the curriculum and examination scheme prescribed by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi.

Evaluation is conducted through a combination of:

Term End Examinations conducted by the University
Internal and continuous assessment conducted by the Institute

The evaluation process includes assignments, presentations, practicals, projects, class participation, viva voce and internal tests as prescribed under the University scheme.

The degree of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is awarded by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, upon successful completion of the programme.

The Institute follows the fee structure as prescribed for the BCA programme for this Institute by the State Fee Regulatory Committee. Fee structure for BCA (1^st & 2^nd Shift) for the academic session 2026-2027 comprises of the following elements:

*The fee is indicative and subject to final notification/approval by the competent authorities including SFRC/GGSIPU for Academic Session 2026–27.

The fee is payable annually at the beginning of the academic session. Part of the first-year fee may be collected by GGSIPU and the remaining amount by the Institute. Fees once paid are subject to the applicable refund rules and regulations.

REFUND RULES

Refund of fees shall be governed by the applicable rules and regulations of AICTE, GGSIPU and other competent authorities. If a student withdraws admission after the commencement of the course and the seat remains vacant, the fee shall not be refunded except refundable security deposit, subject to applicable deductions, if any.

Security Deposit shall be refundable on completion of the programme or on migration/withdrawal upon submission of an application. The Institute may deduct dues towards loss/damage of library books, Institute property, disciplinary penalties or other outstanding charges, if applicable.
