The AIBE or All India Bar Examination is one of the most critical law examinations because you can start practicing as a lawyer upon clearing it. The AIBE is an open book exam, but that does not make it the easiest exam. Because everyone knows the study materials and books of law are so many that it would never be enough even if you carry a whole section of the library with you. Therefore, planning before the All India Bar Examination is one of the essential steps for a student before appearing for the exam. Rest of the tips that are tried, tested, and proven over time to help students clear AIBE in one go are listed below:
- Scheduling and management of time
Time management is a top priority while preparing for any examination. Still, because the syllabus of AIBE is so vast, one has to schedule their time for each of the subjects, topics and acts properly to cover the whole syllabus. Therefore, it’s crucial to have a reasonable timetable that will determine how much time to give a particular area of study so that all areas of study can be completed before AIBE.
- Go through all the previous year’s papers
The students in the previous years have appeared for AIBE and have successfully passed those question papers. Thus you need to understand the pattern of the examination and go through the last year’s papers. These sample papers would help you to know how you should target each question better and ensure that you score above the passing criteria easily.
- Prepare the suitable study material for the exam in advance
The law course is very time-consuming and lengthy, and so is its syllabus. Divided amongst ten semesters, it’s a five-year-long course to complete BA LLB or BBA LLB. Thus, the number of topics, areas, and subjects covered during the period is vast. Therefore, while preparing for AIBE, it’s crucial to ensure that you know which study materials you should be preparing and which books you should carry with you to the examination hall. You will also have to remember the significant areas and important topics to find and look at while answering the questions.
- Attempt all the questions
The AIBE does not have any negative marking, and thus you need to attempt all the questions irrespective of whether you are sure of it or not. It is an open book exam, and hence, you can have your book opened beside you while answering the questions and therefore there should be no reason you do not attempt a question. You would need a passing score of 40 to clear the bar examination, and hence you should be targeting every question in the paper without a second thought.
- Know your bare acts by heart
The syllabus for bare acts is vast and has a lot to cover at once. But at the same time, you should know these bare acts by heart because fundamental questions will be based on the bare acts. From the “Constitution of India, Advocates Act 1961, Penal Code of India 1860 to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 and Goods and Services Act 2017,” you should have all these acts known to the core. Therefore, it is highly advisable to have enough knowledge about the questions to answer them first and then rely on our reference material to check the answers. This will save you time during the 3-hour paper instead of finding each solution from the reference materials.
No exam should be taken as an easy stride even though the AIBE is an open book examination. The exam is conducted twice a year, and thus you have six months to prepare for each term. Six months should be enough to crack AIBE in one go if prepared with dedication and strategy. This exam is your gateway to fulfill the dream of becoming a lawyer and proudly practices at the court. Hence, take note of these tips and clear the AIBE without worry.
