| ABOUT THE PROGRAME |
| The MCA program has a curriculum structure that has been shaped to meet not only the boom in the Information Technology sector but also to realize the ambition of students by providing high-grade career to them. This time-perfected course focuses on providing a sound theoretical background as well as good practical exposure to students in computer science technology. It aims at producing trained professionals who can successfully meet the rigorous demands of the Information Age. It aids scholars to evolve academic strategies and work toward academic goals rooted in human values for knowledge-based achievements in Information Technology. |
| COURSE STRUCTURE |
Typically, MCA is a full-time degree course with duration of three years (six semesters). The first year of the course focuses on imparting brass tacks of Information Technology. It concentrates on the fundamental techniques and concepts of IT comprising of Languages, Algorithms, Data Structures, Object Oriented programming, which is imperative to understand the Core subjects in IT. It also covers various subjects like Electronics, Mathematics, Graphics and Architecture of Computers.
The second year of program is a central part and focuses on principal areas that are in a straight line used in the industry and that construct the much required technical knowledge and confidence among the students. The courses in the Second Semester are supplemented by the making projects that reinforce the classroom teaching and gives hands-on experience.
The third year builds on these fundamentals and requires a student to focus on the specializations by taking up elective courses in the areas of Testing, Database Management, Digital Processing, Computer Network and Architecture, Operation Research and Requirement and Estimation Techniques. Along with these specialization courses, a student has to work on a live project, an on-the-job training for a period of six months. The focal point of a six month internship is to build technical expertise and proficiency that enable technical professionals to build world class software and to resolve strategic and complex organizational problems. |
